HI, I came across this on You Tube today and just had to share it. It might not mean much to non-Brits, but for many of us it's the most stirring, patriotic music you can hear and if you're lucky to have attended - Wow!

RE: Last Night At The Proms
Elgar is right up at the top for me ... add in the lyrics of A. C. Benson and it will have me standing and singing every time.
Land of Hope and Glory, Mother of the Free,
How shall we extol thee, who are born of thee?
Wider still and wider shall thy bounds be set;
God, who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet,
God, who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet!!
Another rousing song formed from music Thomas Arne with lyrics from a poem by James Thomson - Rule Britannia.
This was regularly sung at my old school.

RE: Last Night At The Proms
I agree Aitch, it affects me the same way. Also Jerusalem which is my old school hymn. I hated it when we had to sing it so often then of course, but now it's amongst the top of those that have you singing at the top of your voice filled with pride
